All in all..how much is the complete set up you got....minus the camera...worth?

I hear alot about that monitor, honestly its the first thing people comment on when i'm filming at a location, its nothing more then a simple headrest monitor for a car, you can find them on ebay for around 100$, and I found a rechargeable battery for 40$. also I added a Marshall mount from evsonline 20$, http://www.evsonline.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=VLCDMT . Now I DONT RECOMMEND using this monitor as a replacement of a field monitor but from a "directors" stand point i love having it to see what my camera operator is filming.

sure looks nice the monitor...you know what is the make and size of it so i can look for one on Ebay? I figure it has RCA inputs for video and audio..no s video? Also does it need a special rechargeable batttery? Which one are you using and were you got it from

thanks

i noticed it is kind of wide screen...does it distort too much the picture shooting 4:3?

thanks for the pics and info...nice set up

Awesome setup! You say you use the anamorphic with it... do you see any vignetting at the wide end? And the side flags are self-made, right?

Good stuff. Thanks for the pics and info!

Super,

I only use it when I shoot 16x9, if you wanted a monitor that looked fine when shooting 4:3, just make sure under the specs it says 16x9, 4:3 switchable and then you can shoot in 4:3 with out any distortion.

Yeah those side flaps were made by "Mad" Doug here at dvxuser.com, you get the slightest bit of vin. at Z00 so I shoot at Z06 and it looks great.

I'm lazy this ayem, so please forgive my errant questions:

Is that the standard 4x4 Cavision hardshade two tray (1 rotating) mattebox?

Did you scribe the back of the box where the clamping ring is normally located using the DVX anamorphic adapter as a template?

Did you shave down the front of the anamorphic adapter (assuming you did not!)?

Tell us about the [graphite or wood or aluminum] riser plate you mfg.?

Cheers and thanks in advance,

e

shane,

so im assuming you have a cable the directly attaches to the monitors connector and to the battery with no modifications?

EDIT

also, what tripod are you using?

its the cavision 4x4 hardshade with rods system, no the back of the box is already cut that way for use of the 4x4 filters, the clamping ring is removed, and I have a rubber riser pad. Also I did the Chrosziel ANA. Mod.

If you purchase a UNIVERSAL LI-ION battery it comes with EVERY different size connection you could imagine, one of the connections plus directly into the cable for the monitor.

My tripod is a BOGEN 028 with a BOGEN 503 head.
