Being one of the newer members here I spend a lot of time searching through older threads to see what I might have missed from the past and I try to look at every example that I can find to see just what the DVX100 is capable of. I ran across a thread regarding the work of Matt Mcdermitt and from what I have read this guy has done some of the most amazing things with this camera. The thread was an incredible 26 pages long (all of which I read) and everyone talked about the quality level of this guys work, however nothing works to see his stuff. does anyone have a working link or if Matt himself is reading this can you tell me when your work will be available for viewing? There are many talented people here and the DVX100 is an artists tool, how you use it determines the outcome and seeing the widest variety of work can only make each one of us better at what we do and what we want to achieve!

He should be relaunching his website today. I found a link to his stuff (including a bit of his new music video, which should be incredible) but I don't know if he wants people seeing it before his big relaunch. I can already say that this is some of the best footage I've ever seen from a dvx, and--remarkably--all the lighting is done with home-depot lights and most of the camera moves are handheld. I guarantee you'll be impressed. I was there for half of the shoot, though, so of course I'm biased.

After you see his new video, you'll agree he deserves it. That said, I didn't even bother reading more than a page or two of the last 26 page thread. Sure, the videos were great and worth watching, but reading pages of repetitive comments gushing over the same work really wasn't very interesting.

im sorry but to be completely honest the matt does is amazing, but he chooses/gets stuck with the gayest music.

The songs are okay in a 'pop' way but I agree, I'd choose a more dramatic backdrop of a score.

Hey, if a sysem operator type person is here, you should delete that post that has the link to Matt's site, it's not cool to have that here, I know the kid doesn't have the movies linked right now because he has bandwidth issues. Just my opinion, but it wasn't very cool to post that.

I understand Tim, if Matt emails me to take it down I will, Im not sure if he doesnt want it public or not.

Yeah, OK. But this has already come up once, and it was taken down then. My feeling is, if he hasn't linked to it from his OWN site, then we have no business posting links into his site here. Fact is, it's fairly easy to discover folders like that on people's sites, but that doesn't make it right to post them.

I posted the link before, but then asked the moderator to take it down. I agree that if it is not linked from his homepage, then he probably does not want folks to access the files.

There's one easy way to keep people from downloading files if you don't want them to... delete them! It's not that hard to put them back there when he wants people to download them.

Sorry if this thread is giong the wrong direction. I never wanted it to get ugly as in what should be posted or not. I really wanted to check out the work of another artist especially one that is so talked about.

Interesting note AMPRO

Im not too concerned with his 'upbringing' as some people just get a helping hand.  If Im in position I will give my son ANYTHING. as I got **** growing up and have earned everything on my own terms.

As far as Matt never hanging out?  Well, perhaps he's not a forum kind of guy or maybe he's freakin busier than ass shooting?  Maybe he's just shy and has some humility and the accolades trip him out?  Or maybe he is thinking he is the ****.  I dont know.   I wouldnt mind if he showed up every blue moon to 'enlighten' but at the same token I also dont care as his work sdoesnt stress me as more inspires me.

His new VID looks good.

I don't know what people expect from him, but I've hired him for a small job and I found him to be fast, friendly, competent, hard-working, and he exceeded my expectations. If he's a "spoiled-*** rich kid", he sure didn't work like it.

From my perspective, he's the bomb. I think he's got real talent, and I'd hire him full-time if I had a position available for him.
