SHORT: Matrix Style Car Hit

Hey guys,

I got a new car recently and i decided to make a little short parody of The Matrix subway fight about getting rid of the old car.
It has a few effects in it... green screening, car hit etc.
If you could check it out & give me feedback (or maybe even a like on youtube! :cheesy:) i would really appreciate it.

It was really good! :cheesy: The effect where the camera was sped up and shook towards the car worked really well. The keying was great, especially when you were colliding with objects. The filming was good, as was the colour grading. However, it looked a bit unrealistic when you fell back against the floor. Though because it was filmed on a flat green screen, (by the looks of it), then there's not a lot you can do about it.
 
Hey man... thanks alot for your kind words :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) ... that shot was the worst! lol... i had so much trouble with it i ended up roto-scoping myself and the edges ended up really shrunk. It was only a second though so i left it in ... can't fool you film gurus! hahaha
 
Good work, liked seeing the car wobble when you got in for last time. The end shot was very interesting, the smoke, the broken glass and you.

Possible for a brief explanation on how you got the broken glass effect and the smoke behind broken glass effect would be nice. A 3d program, rotor scope or both?

hey thanks alot mate! yeh the last scene was all rotoscoped ... the roto-brush tool in after effects CS5 made it a little easier, but i still had to go through frame by frame and draw a mask around myself. so painful sometimes!
 
great video. ive had alot of cars i would like to of "done off" like that.. LOL...... can I ask what effect you did to do the camera sped up and shook towards the car .. im looking to do that sort effect in a graveyard in a scene im working on...any help would be great...
 
Cheers for the nice comment man :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG). To get the sped up look I just filmed footage walking towards the car as steady and as fast as I could. I then brought it into after effects, time remapped it (sped it up) and applied the 'twitch' plugin (video copilot). This added the camera shakiness, little flashes of light, colour & blurriness. The main idea is just sped up footage but i'm sure you could add in effects with other programs if you don't have after effects. Let me know if you need any further explanation ..happy to help!

Ive been working on a few scenes for our film and I really liked how you did the car video. so i gave it a try.. I kind of like how it turned out.. This clip is part of a "dream state" that the girl is in and she is schizo in the film and believes that she is being killed off... SHe is the evil side of a split personality,, and everyday that the doctor helps the girl in the hospital.. this side feels as if she is dying... so this will be a part of that..
