We are shooting a feature and have both the HVX200 and the HPX170. Trying to get basic scene file settings to match up the footage.

Cine D gamma being used on both but does anyone know detail, coring, pedestal chroma differences between the two cameras?

Is the HPX "sharper" with higher inherent detail at 0?
Is the HPX more saturated at same chroma level of HVX?

thanks in advance!

Yes the 170 is sharper at the same detail level; try setting the 170's "coring" value to be about 1 to 2 points higher than the 200's.

You'll have to use very different master pedestal settings; look at the chart in the HPX Book for a conversion table.

thanks for the quick reply Barry. Will try the coring and make the adjustments for pedestal conversion. Woohoo!

Does this apply to the original HVX or only the HVX200a? I noticed the black difference right out of the box, so the conversion chart helps. MAybe I will try some color chart shots.
Thanks all.
I am very pleased with the low light response but is it really that much cleaner in well lit situations? (I've only had it for a day, so...)
I am hoping to be able to sell one of HVX200s, so any help would be appreciated.
