FS5: Matching FS5 and FS7

I am shooting an interview with an FS5, mine, and an FS7 which belongs to a colleague. Neither of us have any experience of each others camera. I'm wondering if anybody could advise me about which would be the best profiles to shoot on each camera to get them as near to each other as possible? We can shoot an X-rite chart although I have no experience of using these in video, only stills. We will be shooting rec 709. We have no experience of log shooting. My NLE is FCPX. I do have the Colour Finale plugin that works with the X-rite ColorChecker passport although I have yet to use it!
I hope that is enough information.
Best wishes. Patrick.

Using Rec709 you have very limited room in post, I would recommend you rent another camera to avoid headaches in post.

You can match the fs5 and fs7 pretty well in rec709 I'm not sure it's quite as drastic as you make it out to be. Choose the same gamma settings, zero everything out in the matrixes or simply turn them off, use a preset white balance dialed to the proper temperature and you should be good to go.

Unfortunately Sony seems to have 2 different systems for color . They both have preset color matrixes and perhaps some of those may happen to match. Likewise the cine gammas are similar to hypergamms as explained in the link a few posts above. However if you go any deeper they divulge radically and frankly that's a gigantic PITA. Thank you Sony. The FS7 and F55 and EX1/3 and F3 etc use the professional system which involves a traditional Matrix which is very confusing if you don't study up on it, but similar settings can get those cameras to match well quickly. The Fs5 , FS700 and the still cameras all use a different system with" color depth" and some other settings that looks simpler (though I don't really get that one either) but there's no simple way to get the 2 systems to match. Really annoying frankly . Good luck finding a recipe for both. Post it if you find it.

Even though I don't shoot Log that much(and don't edit/grade, just 100% hand-off to clients), I would recommend shooting in Log to give you the best chance at matching them in post.
