Matching F35 with (Panasonic GH2, Canon 5d, Sony NX 5u)

The subject line about says it all. I have been asked to shoot some footage to match with existing Sony F 35 footage. Here's the rub, I won't have the opportunity to preview the
F 35 footage and so have to take my best guess as to what camera I should use. I have at my disposal a Panasonic GH2, Canon 5d MkII, and a Sony NX 5u.

What, in all this forums infinite wisdom, would you recommend shooting with to allow for the closest match with the F 35? I fully realize there are a multitude of variables that would affect the answer to this question such as lenses, camera settings, etc. I suppose I'm looking for a very generalized, all things being equal, sort of response.

Thank you for your assistance, Jeff

Chose the camera that will give you the highest bit-rate for the most flexibility in post to match the shots through grading. I also recommend shooting it with a flatter like picture profile. If the GH2 is hacked, you are all set.

In the Movember web-series I DP'd, all exterior car-mount shots were done with a GH2 and I had no problem getting it to match up quite well to the F3 footage I shot.

(There was no f@#^ing way in hell my F3 was going to dangle off some suction cups and rods!)

Thanks, Starcentral. When you matched GH2 footage with the F3, was it a hacked rig and if so, what bitrate, frame rate, resolution etc. did you shoot at.

Best...

Yes it was a hacked rig but we were only shooting 20mbps and mixing it in with 35mbps. All footage was 24p, 1920x1080. The thing with our shots is they were quick inserts and at most only on screen for a couple seconds. Depending on how much you need to mix together, your results may vary.

Sorry about my answer, but when : “I have been asked to shoot some footage to match with existing Sony F 35 footage.” you should just say “NO”.
One of the first think we should learn when stepping onto DoP position is to say NO.
You could just ask this producer to rent F35 for the period you need it.
My 2 cents

Well I agree I would want to see the actual F35 footage myself before agreeing to do it, but hey, who knows the actual situation....

Jeff - do you know what the actual F35 footage is of? Like was it a cinematic production, or live event coverage, the next "Blair Witch Project" movie, etc.. ???
