matching DVX with super8 film stocks

I'm thinking about using my old super8 camera as well as renting a DVX100 for an up coming project.

just thinking about what would be the best way to match the 2 mediums, specifically:

what settings would you use to make the DVX footage look like k40 and 64T

i'd want to get as close as possible in-camera then apply minimum post effects to match them better.

cheers

edit: btw i'd be shooting 24fps on super8, but i'd have to use 25p on the pal dvx

Man, that's a tricky one. Only because you said you'd like to do as much as possible in camera rather than post.

First, Kodachrome 40 and Ektachrome 64t are going to give you different results. Minimal difference's, but different none the less...

I'd think your ONLY option is to test extensively with the DVX. You say you'll be renting one? unless you're renting for a long period of time, your not going to be able to really get out there on location and test, test, and retest.

My advice: shoot flat and do it in post.

cheers,

yeah i meant different settings for each stock, not one "magical super8 setting"

your probably right about shooting flat, i guess there's always the very likely possibility that i will want to CC the super8 footage too. an having them both give off their neutral best will be best for post, it would just save time to do as much of it in-camera as possible.
