matching D90 video to DVX100

So I'm starting a new project that I intend to shoot in the DVX100b along with a Letus adapter and Nikon primes. The DVX setup will be the main camera, but there are certain things I need to be able to shoot with a highly mobile rig. Specifically, I need to be mobile enough to shoot on a street car handheld (city transit actually told me if i want to shoot with a video camera I need a million dollars in liability insurance, but if i'm just using a "digital camera" i fall in line with your average tourist and so no insurance is required).

How would I go about shooting with the D90 to get footage that will work on a DVX timeline? There shouldn't be much of an issue matching "style" since I'll be using the same lenses, and they both shoot 24fps. I know the colour saturation is much different, but I should be able to fiddle around in Color to match that. I'm also aware of the need to reduce the rolling shutter as much as possible in post. My main question is what settings should I be shooting with on the D90 (720? 480?) and how should I import said footage into my DVX workflow to match them as closely as possible.

I guess it's worth nothing I'm using FCP for all of this.

Thanks to anyone who is willing to help me out! Cheers,

DSLR handheld = not so good (especially the D90). DSLR handheld on a moving street car = complete waste of time.

You can get rigs to help with handheld work but then you've just destroyed the whole "just shooting with a digital camera so I don't need insurance" thing.

Don't write it off so quickly. First off, a lot can be done in post to correct the jello. Second, by "handheld" I guess I mean "lapheld" as I would be seated shooting across the aisle at the actor, also seated. The camera itself can be quite stable in this way, and I have tested it. Anyway, don't worry about the shaking, it is worth experimenting.

Honestly my main concern is how to match video quality.
