matching A and B

Hi Folks

I am thinking of getting another DVX for my wedding set up.

I was really considering the B that just came out but am unsure as to wether it will be a match picture wise for my A.

I have a had a torrid time trying to match my A with an XL2 (it's pretty close now though) and dont want to go through the same headaches if I buy the B model.

Just wondering if anyone has had a chance to test this out.

Thanks for now

Jon

dont know about the B, but I had good results matching a DVX100 to a DVX100A, Im guessing you should be fine,be sure to check the settings so they match up as close as possible before shooting of course.

I don't believe you'd have any problems. If anything, they've maybe added a gamma setting for an additional choice (I'm not sure), but I can't imagine that they'd CHANGE anything, as they've got to know that film makers would want it to match the existing A models they have, to make purchasing the B all that much more safer & tempting.

You shoulud be able to export the settings from your B to the A through firewire. Thats one of the new features on the B. Doing that im sure will make them damn close.

You can only swap scene files from a "B" to a "B". The "A" has no capability to export scene files.

And yes, they should match up fairly exactly.
