matching 2 clips color correction

Hello!! I need help with Combustion 3.0 Can anyone tell me exactly how to match one clip to another in Combustion. I've read Combustion Help and ..well.. it didn't. I want to know if I have 2 seperate clips of video, and if I can just match the color from one clip to another with a simple click. Since FCP doesn't have this feature as Avid does I was hoping I could achieve this simple quick click between 2 clips in Combustion. If possible please describe in detail.

Thanks Much!

In FCP you have one clip in the timeline viewer and one in the slug, add the desired effect to the clip you want to edit, then click and drag the tab labeled "effects" you now have the slug, timeline view, and effects window all running at the same time but all in view.

Ok. Let's say I have 2 clips in the same scene. One clip is darker than the other. I want to match the darker clip to the clip that has the right lighting. Without adding any filters/effects how can I just change the darker clip to the one with good lighting.

Thank you.

Uh, are you talking about correcting color or exposure? I'm not sure I follow? Are you looking for more of a levels adjustment?

I want them to precisely match like the Feature Avid has clip to clip with a simple click. Can I achieve this in FCP I know Combustion should be able to but their help info on how to achieve this didn't work for me. I want precision not a comparison from one to the other. Is this making sense?

So is my post in your blind spot?

Yes, unfortunately. I don't get what you mean by "add the desired effect" the desired effect is having clip (a) presisely color corrected to clip (b) I don't want to compare or add a filter. I tried doing what you said in FCP 4 and I couldn't drag a clip in the effects tab. The effects tab doesn't highlight when I drag a clip over it. I guess everything you said was in my blind spot :)

No drag and drop the color correction filter onto the clip, and then click and drag the effects tab into the middle of the screen and unclick, it should become its own window.

Are you sure we are talking about the same thing. The effects tab does become its own window but what does this have to do with color correcting one image to another. What am I doing with the color correction filter?
