What is a good general rule, when setting the master ped on the camera for indoors and then outdoors? I find myself going from +12 indoors, to -33 outdoors(keeping the blacks on the wfm btwn 0-5) Is that normal? (btw...I'm using the spark setting and stopping down the iris to f4-f5 at it's max)

Put the lens cap on, to deliver pure black. Then bring up the spotmeter (Y Get). Adjust the master pedestal until it reads out "0%", and that should be a stable black point.

Oh wow! Thanks for that info Barry. I never used "y" get before. I noticed in my outside scene, that nothing was lower than 10% on the "y" get meter. That was very enlightening and a very useful tool. I'm trying to get consistency with my contrast(blacks).....thanks Barry that helped.
