I would very like to know which camera to make Video Clips of musica. The sound I do not matter, therefore I place in edition. The image yes ! I had a GL1, and he did not please me. I have only money to buy 150 Sony PD or Panasonic DVX 100. Which is BEST? Very Obliged for any clarification, Renato.
I was at that same impasse until a week ago when I purchased the DVX 100. It came down to several issues for me and each of us has to decide what we want the camera for. For me, I will be doing work for DVD and the full image of progressive scanning looks better in that medium. I also wanted to do commercials with the "film look" as opposed to video doctored in post. Also I was weighing light sensitivity- they are about the same in low light, however in extremely low light, the 150 has more gain with less noise. If you can light or don't need to shoot in extremely low light you don't need that feature. The DVX chips have more pixels... so more sharpness. But what I really liked most was the manual controls on the camera as opposed to through the menu. What made my decision final was looking at comparative frames posted on DV info in which the DVX was clearly more detailed than the 150. The fact that you can always shoot in 60i yet can grow into the future of 30p or 24p are just a bonus to what is a more advanced camera. I hope this helps.
