Martin Scorsese back to 35mm film?

Just checking out some info about the new Martin Scorsese film The Wolf of Wall Street. I was curious after his promotion of the Canon C300 if he would actually use one of these cameras on his own films or if he would go back to something like an Arri Alexa like he used on Hugo.

A Google search reveals a lot of articles online that talk about how he has said goodbye to film. That The Wolf of Wall Street is being shot digitally.

However IMDB says it's being shot on 35mm and this behind the scenes video seems to confirm it. See the film mags on those cameras in a few shots?

I'm curious why the change back to 35mm. Why not the use of a C300?

I don't know why, but keep in mind, sometimes it depends on the DP as well - it may not have been Marty's pick.

35mm or 70mm film is still the gold standard. If you have the budget for it, and there are no technical reasons to go digital (3D, extensive FX work), I don't see why you wouldn't choose film.

When I saw Martin Scorsese promoting that Canon C300 stuff, it was just big LMAO time for me ...
