Martial Arts Clips

Did you use on location lighting? it's looks like it was lit with overhead fluorescents. Not saying that's a bad thing. Also was this a one man crew ? I can hear a lot of echo when he's talking. It's a good job overall and I'm sure they are happy with it
 
This works well for an instructional video and the lighting is clear. The one thing I would improve on would be the sound, as mentioned above. I would have wired the instructor up with a wireless lav and run that direct into the camera. Nice job otherwise...
 
I think the reason the audio sounds the way it does is because when I rendered it to a WMV file in Vegas, I had to make the audio 32 kbps / 22 kHz to comply with the specs that Amazon requires for their media clips. (Amazon is distributing the DVD's). When I listen to the audio on the DVD itself, it sounds fine.

There are a couple of problems with running a wireless lav. The first being that he might get clothing rub because of the amount of movement the instructor has to do.
The second thing is that because of the movement he might break the lav.
I shot a kenpo instructional video and the instructor said that he has broken so many lavs

try soem fight scenes with these guys or let an ameture take on the allmighty one anget soem laughs out of that dude beating the sheeet out of any one

or get soem sparing shots and add sound effects goof around with guys they seem pretty seriuese to me man

LOL, no one got hurt at all doing the clips. He is a world class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor and really does enjoy a competitive opponent.
