Marques Brownlee checks out the Red Raven

I didn't want to comment on this in respect to the moderator and the people who are trying to continue the conversation, but I am stunned and I do not know what to say.

My brain does not work like your brain. Your implication and/or any other is truly appalling. I'm disgusted for even being a part of this conversation, and I feel like even just trying to explain myself feels wrong.

But if need to, then here it is:

Anyone who knows Blackmagic knows about their constant delays and questionable marketing. The URSA Mini 4.6K is the most anticipated camera of the year and we are approaching on a year since it was announced. It was supposed to ship in July 2015. BM has not communicated to anyone about the delays and many people are not happy about it. Besides that, many people are asking for BM to have professional promotional material - such as RED's 'Carrion' - shot with the UM 4.6K to show off its capabilities instead of random BETA footage.

My comment was one million percent directed towards Blackmagic and it was just a play off the popular saying, "A monkey can do it."

You and I think very differently. I could have read what I said a million times here or anywhere else posted by someone else, and never even thought about what you brought up.

It actually took me a few times re-reading the comments to even figure out where this tangent was even coming from.

Waaaaaay off base dude (VMT).

Back to the topic, I think it definitely bears repeating that Marques Brownlee and other people skeptical about a 4K future, really overstate the technological hurdles to deliver it. It's already happening on typical broadband connections. H.265 will facilitate 4K like h.264 did 1080p. The same kinds of arguments were made against HD in the era of SD/DVD.

Me personally, I am happy to dispense cold hard cash for SPINNING DISCS (gasp) to get 4K versions of great films. The larger color gamut and bit-depth possible, combined with increased resolution translates into tangible IQ improvements. With large screens at closer viewing distances. YMMV.
