Marks on inside of the lens

I was out filming with my camera today and while I was cleaning my lens and I saw some marks on the inside of the lens. On the grey bit towards the bottom when the lens is zoomed out fully. It doesn't seem to show up in the footage, but I havent' uploaded any of the footage yet since I'm in China right now. It looks like it might be adhesive, but I'm not 100% sure, it may be something else. I'm just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and if i should be really worried about it or not.

Thanks,

Ben

If you don't see it in the footage- don't worry about it.
If it's on the outer edge, or even off the edge- it shouldn't affect the images.

If it's debris, there could be a problem- but it may not affect the images adversely either.

Remember- the light is being funneled into the tube by the lens elements, with the 'circle of confusion' being concentrated at the center of the imaging plane.
It's going to take a lot of debris or major marks to disturb that significantly.

Like, when you're shooting through a chain link fence, you can dial it in to make the near field obstruction (the woven metal links) nearly disappear.

I'd worry about dim sum splatter on the outer element more than anything else.
That'll cause the incoming light to refract differently and really screw up a shot!

Good Luck.

Thanks for that.
