Mark and Ted's Excellent Adventure in Drama

Thank you Cryogenic Filmworks!

Thank you Jason! (Ramjet)

Thank you Kyle!

Thank you Blaine!

Thank you Tom!

Thank you Jack!

I appreciate the time you took to post a message in response to my recognition.

I know that Lumberyard Media is not the pinnacle of Filmmaking achievement but it is certainly satisfying that I may be on the right track!

I hope that I can announce bigger news in the future!

Thanks again,

Ted

Help put Jack’s shorts on national TV! Vote for "Shed" at The Sundance Channel and The Sci Fi Channel

I PMed Ted Cuz I didn't wanna steal his thunder and asked him it was OK to announce this here in this much trafficked place of announcingness and he said "Okey Doodely". So ...

My short "Shed" from Zombie Fest is in th Sundance Channel / Sci Fi Channel Exposure contest online RIGHT NOW.

If you go vote for my film you can help me get it on National TV.

Check out the big thank you at the end of the credits to DVXuser.

Anyhoo vote me up, get me on the TV show. The winner of the TV show gets to get turned down after giving a pitch to Sci Fi for a show or Movie.

well there are TWO sites ya know ;)

In addition to both having shorts online in other fests this week, we have something else in common for mine too plays squeezed!

The submission req said must be 720 X 480 pixels NTSC DVD that will play in any standard DVD player.

I should have known they meant true 4:3 only since they are TV cats, but technically all NTSC video is 720 X 480 PIXELS, its actually the shape of the pixel aspect or the way they are intepreted that changes, and both 16X9 and 4:3 will play back correctly on any TV screen via a standard DVD player .... grrr.

Ah yes, your can count on my voteS! ;)

And yes... grrrrrrrrr (squeezed)

I was just reading the submission form for Sundance. Damn, I wish I would have gotten off my a$$ and at least TRIED to submit!

I'll visit both sites!

Hey! Congrats TED! I will vote for your little gem. And, Jack, I'll vote for SHED any day (and often ... as I will use multiple computers/accounts)! Jack, I was flying from Denver last night and found the new Maxim on the plane. They had a little blurb about Deja Vu and the publicity still is the closeup of Denzel but I recognize part of your ass in the background!!!! Your ass is going to become famous!

Yesterday I was able to spend time with my nephew Brett at Craig Rehab Hospital in Denver. It was a wonderful visit and I am so grateful Brett is making progress. However, it is also a little surreal as his brain injury causes him to rampantly make up stuff as you converse with him. It's weird because there are bits and pieces of things that happened but they get sprinkled throughout the conversation with completely invented stuff. I mentioned that Jana, our lead actress from the Chow Baby project, asked me to give him a hug and big hello and Brett started talking about how she lives upstairs from him and has four cats! Nevertheless, it was just really nice to spend time and hear his voice. Here's a pic from Craig:

Jack, I just voted for SHED and it says "come back tomorrow and vote again" so obviously they track IP numbers for the day and its important for us to keep voting for SHED each day for the whole week its up.

Also, I just voted on the SciFi site and it pulls up a pop-up that asks for a little info and an e-mail address. Afterwards I went back and voted again and put in another e-mail address. Can't tell if they are checking IP numbers or not or if they are just gathering e-mail addresses to check against votes. Anyway, I felt like a Democrat in Chicago (voting early and often).

I've said it before and I'll say it often again: SHED ROCKS!!!! It just kicks the balls of those other weak entries!

I haven't seen the other films yet this week, but Mark Harris, who was in last week with Bloody Mary, was just bitching at me for being in an easy heat in his opinion. So you yeah you could have gotten on. When I talked to someone on the phone at Sci Fi and he said that of course they were deluged with films in the last few days as the deadline was yesterday ... so it paid off for Mark and Aram and I to submit early.

I was able to get the operator # at 30 Rockefeller via my IMDB pro account and thereby somehow actually get transferred to a guy that works on the Exposure film fest ... and he was very nice and helpful ... and I actually saw some dividends for switching to my full birth name professionally about two years ago as he remembered my name because of the Jack Daniel thing.

Long story short, I had called to see if there was someway the squeeze issue could be avoided if it came up for the 3 other shorts I sent them (including a PG version of Rekindled.) And he said they would be able to fix it for Shed and that he was involved enough in the process to keep an eye out for my other films should they make it through the gauntlet.

My ass opens tomorrow in theatres nationwide.
I guess this week is my widescreen and small screen (outside of DVXuser) debut.

That's got to be exciting! I just may go to the movies tomorrow, just for you Jack! (after all, I am such a Netflix guy... it would be JUST for you!)

Well lets get confirmation that my lines have actually wound up in the movie before anyone goes and sees it just for that reason.

Even then I have between 1 and 4 lines depending on how they cut it and they are less then a dramatic part of a scene.

So if you would go see it anyway that's one thing, but don't do it for me.

Voting for Shed is mandatory.

Seeing Deja Vu is not :)

Can one of you photoshop wizards change the "Y" on Mark's shirt to a "D" please!

damn yankees!

You can leave the "D" alone on Brett's. That's okay.

But I really love the "Computer is not working" sign on the monitor in the background! Is that a Compaq???
