Mark and Ted's Excellent Adventure in Drama

Well, Ribs are one of my specialties. That and Buffalo Wings are ALWAYS requested by my friends. (at least, I think that they are my friends... maybe they only come around for the food!)

Norm, I just found the link for your DVD. I had hit the button at the bottom (under "news" that mentioned the DVD. Funny, I didn't quite catch the large dvd image with the text, "buy it now." LOL. Missed that one!

And of course, I knew that you being "over-the-top fecicous." I appreciate your sensitivity to the issue, however... there are many who plug religiously!

Rebecca, I have no doubt we'll get ribs... after all of this pressure! If not, well... I will borrow someones grill and make my own for you all! (dang, gotta stop talk about coming up there.... I am getting a little "home-sick" to see Mt. Hood again!)
 
HAHA Ted... you're too kind! Seriously though... I am liking the footage from TTN, and I am confident you'll cut a good film. :) Glad to be a part of it, and looking forward to the finished product.
 
This is looking great guys (and girls)! Can't wait to see it. It looks like quite a collaboration!

Maybe there should be a special award for 'Most DVXUser members in a collaborative film'. And the award goes to...
 
That would be TTN for sure, I believe ... especially with some of the users traveling across country to work together ... that's just TOO cool. Love it.

I know my wife would think I'm a complete geek for saying it, but I think it'd be awesome to have as many of the TTN folks as possible up for a screening/party weekend ... she'd think I was a geek because these are all folks I've just gotten to know over the internet & typing, lol.

In fact, less than a couple of years ago, I would have agreed with her whole heartedly. :grin:

You know, Norm... I was shocked at myself when I realized that I was flying 3000 miles to go meet a guy (Mark) that I met online. I really had to stop and think, "what is this all about?!" I have always question these people that "meet over the internet..."

But then, I had to remind myself WHERE I met Mark on the internet... at a very cool filmmaker's website! Then I felt better.

As for a screening/party, that would be so cool. It kinda sucks to be back here in the Frozen Cow Pastures of New Hampshire... all by myself.
 
Ah, you're not by yourself ... you've got your lovely & very supportive bride by your side.

Yes, Brandon, I'm sure we could even squeeze in a screening of SR, though by the time we ever got this crew out here, I'm sure you'll have been released on DVD well before then. :beer:

Hey, I hope it's out, and has sold 100's of thousands of copies, and we're in production on SR2 in Florida, and you all can come out there for a weekend!!! :) :) I know, I'm dreamin' but you gotta have dreams!
 
Ted, How's the edit going? Is it going to be tough squeezing to six minutes? For some reason a film always gets alot longer when I start editing. Even though I play the scene out in my head and time it with a watch before I shoot it. When I go to edit it's alot longer.

Yeah, it's funny.... I knew that it was going to be a tight fit to begin with but when I read the script, over and over and over again, I convinced myself that I wouldn't have any trouble getting the story in and told correctly.

hmmmmm..... another learning lesson.

BUT, Mark has something brewing in his cap and I am starting to shift my gear to the long cut (something that has always been planned)... NOT that I have abandoned the 6 minute cut, I am just taking a breather and letting Mark take a look at this.

Actually, I realize that I'm no editor and we'd be screwed if it were in my hands. However, it turns out that Slimothy has some serious chops (his music vids are wicked and he's a maven with Vegas). He's been working on a rough that hopefully will allow us to fit the story into 6 minutes. He is uploading a cut for us guys to look at as I write this.

As for me, I'm cranking on the vfx and have been whipping the team to make me look good! I must say that the effects shots are looking awesome!

I'm pleased you are working on a longer cut, Ted, as I am looking forward to seeing your approach when you aren't constrained by having to shoehorn everything into a finite timeline.

Um, yeah ... just got some news from my editor of the first cut. :undecided :shocked: Needless to say tomorrow morning (already past my self appointed deadline) will be spent helping to chainsaw some fat out of it.
 
Brandon, me and Mark have been working on all the SR stuff and I'm pretty confident we'll have it done within a few weeks at the very latest. It's looking great man!
