I have been using an 18% gray card to manually white balance my AF100 with excellent results.
Recently, instead of getting a proper white balance, however, I get a magenta cast when manually balancing with the gray card. If I balance to a white board, not a true white card, it is much better but still not as good a balance as when I using automatic white balance or manually set the variable feature of the PRST switch to match the 5500 K of my Kino Flo lamps.
After using a white board to manually white balance the camera as mentioned above, if I then remove the white board and try to white balance against the 18% gray card, the magenta cast returns.
I recently bought another AF100 which, at first properly balanced to the gray card. Now it, too, yields the same result as above.
My guess is that I have screwed up something in the menu settings in both cameras, but after extensive adjustments and testing, I can’t figure out what.
A call to Panasonic broadcast tech support wasn't of any help.
