GH2 Manual focusing with native Panasonic lenses?

In a run and gun situation (documentary/event/etc), how do you do a relatively smooth manual focus on a native Panasonic lens, like say, the kit 14-140 or the new 25mm? I've found that at an average turning speed it seems to take a few complete turns of the ring for it to go from one end of the focusing range to the other. That ends up introducing shake since I have to take my hand off the ring and back on to continue turning it. Turning the ring really fast reduces the number of turns, but that also introduces shake because of the speed. That's in contrast to the 1/4 turn that my Olympus OM 24mm takes from one end to the other. I've searched the manual and the settings and don't believe that there are any settings to adjust the speed of the fly by wire focus on the native lenses. Does it just take a practice to get good at it, or do I have to choose between OIS and smooth and fast manual focus?

Great, thanks LPowell! I had seen that thread before, and plan to eventually add info to it regarding the Olympus OM lenses.

If you need zooms- go for the Olympus 14-54mm f.2.8-3.5 II !
I shoot it manual focus only since it's wonderfull manual focus lens- the focus ring runs very smooth.
You will need 4/3 -> m4/3 adapter and it's about additional 90$ cost, but it's worth it.

The Oly 14-54 is still focus-by-wire like the Lumix lenses (although it it much smoother than the 14-140). The "Pana-Leica" models I've tried (14-50, 25/1.4 43 and m43) also have very nice, smooth focus rings, but also focus by wire at variable speed.
