Manual Focus Doesn't Work

Hey folks. I got myself a used DVX100 off of ebay. Everything works completely fine, except the Manual Focus ring seems to not respond at all. The focus number doesn't go up or down when I turn the Manual Focus ring.

The switch is on M. This goes for all shooting modes as well.

What could have caused this? Is there a setting/button I'm jsut not seeing or is it broken?
 
That's gonna be a negative. The most it did was try to change between two numbers. Pushed the "Push Auto" button and the "Auto" button near "User 1". Nada.
 
Well, um... hmmm.

What about the focus display -- does it say MF38 (or whatever number) or does it say AF38 (etc)? MF or AF? When you move the focus switch from A to M, does the AF change to MF?
 
When the switch is on "A", it says AF. When it's on "M", it says MF.

Also special to note is when I DO have Auto Focus on in 60i, it focuses just fine. Get closer to stuff, farther away, no problem. Which would lead me to think it's a problem with the Manual Focus Ring itself.

but...I don't know.
