Manhattan LCD or Computer Monitor

I'm trying to decide which one to go for when using my HMC150 I'm looking at a HP LP2475 computer monitor or a Manhattan LCD B or C model.

I figure the HP would be better because I can use it for filming and I can also use it for editing. Yes I realize that it's 24 inches compared to 8.9 inches. I guess what I'm trying to say is what is more important having a monitor for filming/editing or just a Manhattan LCD for filming? I'm sort of thinking maybe if you get great color accuracy while filming on the Manhattan then it may not be as important as editing on a great screen at home?

Yes I know I should get both but I want to get one right now just don't have over a thousand to get both yet.

I also went with a 24" to double as a field monitor/editing... Honestly its pretty hard to truck around a 24" monitor. If you are in fixed location for long record times I would say the 24 is fine. I have found it more practical to have a smaller monitor so you can shoot with it anytime. I use a 8" SD monitor for the Jib. I would want a Manhattan to use in the field. Plus I picked up a hd 24" monitor for around $200, works great for editing!

This is not based on hardware quality itself - I'm not sure what the HP monitor is capable of... I know the Manhattan is superb for the price.

your camera has an hdmi out port so both monitors will work with your camera. the question is: what is more important to you 720p native w/ 1:1 pixel mapping or a anti refective screen. the monitors are almost identical except the lcd screen that is in them the HD089B has a 1024x600 screen that has a antiglare coating on it that makes it better at shooting out in the sun. the HD089C has 1280x768 resolution screen so it is a little bit sharper but the screen is glossy so you may see some reflections in bright light. the manufacturer of the lcd pannel does not offer it in anti glare. you can however get anti glare films to put over the screen but they do take away some of the viewing angle and brightness.
hope that helps if you have any more questions you can email us
