Has anyone used this one?
Been looking on DVX user and found a few people selling them.
I can't find a video that has been shot using it. I plan on shooting video with a 60D and want to know if its panning is smooth.

Has anyone used it for video? opinions? samples?

:)

I have one!

Great for Photo, rubbish for video.

Pans are crappy, Tilts are even worse. Not worth the money!

If you are on a tight budget, I'd reccoment the 128RC2.

I am selling mine, just because I need a heavier load capacity because I just got a fully loaded rig!

the 804RC2 is a STILL PHOTO head.
its designed to stay still. not move.

thus pans will SUCK ; )

If you are on a tight budget, I'd reccoment the 128RC2
thats better. but still primarily used as a still head.

i have both of these. they are great for still work. but i wouldnt dream of using them for video work requiring successful movement.

yeah they WILL do. better than nothing i guess. but it would be like driving a nail with a screwdriver

The 128RC2 works great as a video head if you use only your camera on it! When you load up at more than 2-3kgs, it will not be smooth anymore!

I also have the 804RC2 and no, its not ideal for video work. What kind of budget are you working with? The world of tripod heads is a big one.
