Hello , Does anybody recommend this combo or the Merlin does a much better job? I have seen clips on You tube showing off the modosteady but they never show the product in action POV action i mean.

Hi,
From my researches the modosteady is a little weak.
Now, I don't know about the Merlin, but I bought the Hague Mini Motion-Cam and it works like a charm with the D90 (according you add a little more weight than what they supply for the counter balance).

Ohh i found some footage thanks GOD ... i mean GOOGLE

Hi, I was also thinking about manfrotto modo (3 in one soluton), and read a lot before buy. My conclusion is NOT WORKS with D90 (I am talking about steady mode). D90 is too heavy and maybe U find the right balance with extra weight, but that would be far far from the idal steady!! Modo max load capacity is 0.75 Kg (1.7 lbs).

I bought the Hague Mini and added a little weight but couldn't get it to work too well... anyone cares to share how they make it work like a charm? Or some tricks?
I've seen the videos on Hague's site, I managed to keep the camera steady but when I start walking it starts pointing at the wrong direction.

that's the sideways balance, make sure it's fine tuned, but also an operating technique. if it wanders it means it's correctly balanced, so you're on the right track, but you can also stear the pan by putting a finger on the ball joint. works really well. if you add a little more weight it will be easier to operate but it won't be as floaty anymore.

I've been using my D90 on a GlideCam 2000, and it's returned some pretty decent results. More details in my original post.
