manfrotto 503 HDV head with new legs?

Hey all

my old legs are bugging out on me and i would like to continue using my 503 hdv head with new legs but im really edging more towards getting either a 75mm or 100mm bowl. Is it possible to do this with the 503? Is there some sort of attachment i can get?

Then, what legs would you guys recommend for narrative filmmaking. Some documentary on the side so uneven ground will definitely come up at points. I'm not taking apple boxes and wedges around with me so im thinking floor spreader might not be the Best option, but maybe something mid level. Also, I will be supporting the AF100 with a few goodies, so nothing more than 10-12 pounds.

Manfrotto makes several tripods that come with 75mm half-balls with which your 503 is perfectly compatible. The 546B legs are pretty solid, and have both mid-level and ground-level spreader options. Take a look at the one with the mid-level spreader.

Also, take a look at THIS in the DVXUser Marketplace. Not sure if it has a spreader (ask the seller), but a mid-level spreader can be purchased from B&H for about $45.
