I have just taken delivery of one and used it in anger today, I guess it's down to personal choice but I love it. IMHO worth the money

I've been toying with the idea to buy this one too. Can you tell me which lenses you are using on it?

A range of Lumix lenses

14-140mm
45-200mm
20mm F1.7
8 mm fisheye

For me it gives me much more accurate focus control and makes focus pulls a delight.

this sounds like a great product but I went on the Manfrotto site and didn't find the af100 listed for any of the remotes?

I got mine a few weeks back, it really is fantastic, and I'm normally totally prejudiced againt manfrotto.

Does the far / near stop feature work accurately enough to be reproducible with the AF-100 and 14-140 combo? Do you get parfocal focus with it when the 14-140 zooms?

I have a Foxi focus / iris remote from my DVXand HPX cameras and it seems to work inconsistently on this AF-100 camera. I mark a certain focus on the dial, but when I focus in or out a few times, the mark has lost its numeric value on the viewfinder focus readout....it's no longer valid. I am hoping to find an electronic focus remote that will give repeatable results on lenses with electronic focus systems.

I need to do more testing ...but yes the 14-140 lens seems to be parafocal
I set up near and far focal points using the custom focus setting and it all worked... and was repeatable (10 times) thou i did not pay any attention to the zoom numbers, I was watching red peaking on the EVF as i moved from near to far and back.

There are three slider switches allowing you to select
(i) Manual/auto focus
(ii) Manual/auto Iris
(iii) Custom/normal focus

as i drive the camera I can flick these to check my settings

Hi all,
I just wanted to add some info to this thread.

I received the PFI today and tried it out with the panny 14-45 f3.5/5.6. Everything worked fine except from the iris, which cannot reach f3.5 and can be opened only to f4.2. No problem to stop it down.
I called Manfrotto to see how to fix this. They will check it out and let me know next week. He said that this controller is supposed to open wide the iris.

Besides, today I had the chance to mount the new lumix g X 45-175 on my AF100. I did it at Panasonic Italy. A tech guy there has been so kind to let me try a demo lens which performed just great for the first 5 minutes!! After that, it stopped zooming and focusing. We took it out from the AF100 and mounted it back a few times, then it started working again....God knows why!
Good news are that the Manfrotto PFI works (but wont open iris past f5) and the OIS can be turned on/off by pressing the button on the AF100. I noticed very low breathing when rack focusing but I didn't have a large field monitor with me...it's hard to judge it on the camera LCD.

Hope this helps,
Diego

When zooming did this lens exhibit the usual 14-140mm lens problems..a delayed ramping thats very noticeable
