Male vs. Female DVX Users

Re: Male vs. Female DVX Users

chime!

(and no, this is not a come-on. I am really a man. hahah)

Re: Male vs. Female DVX Users

Pooh, why does your gender say female than? ;)

Re: Male vs. Female DVX Users

Chi, you should change your avatar. Animated avatars have a way of slowing the board down to a crawl... please use a static one, or one with a lot less animation (I don't remember your flapping-jaw avatar as slowing the board down, but this new one sure does!)

Re: Male vs. Female DVX Users

My wife uses the DVX 100, but she is learning the internet, she is from Peru. She is not much into the forums, but she is very good with the camera. She has an excellent eye as a photographer and artist(oil paintings) it comes natural to her, she loves shooting weddings.

Re: Male vs. Female DVX Users

Well, I am a female and new to the boards. I have mainly been soaking up all the technical info you guys post in other areas (lighting, hardware, etc). I put my first post up this morning in the Screenwriting area (hint). I have had my DVX100a for a few months now and have so far worked on a few two camera projects for some stage shows for a local theater company and I am working on a "yearbook" for a local church for their next Founder's Day. I am also trying to start my own project in my slow time. I do work full-time in another industry, unfortunately, but in my off hours I work for a touring production company as stage manager, prop master, and pseudo-light technician. I work up a light cue book for the shows and run the very small board in rehearsals and smaller venues.

I, too, have noticed the lack of women around here, but saw nothing of the "He-Man Woman Haters" club in the registration process. ;D

I hope to keep learning from the great info on these boards. I am finding it a wealth of everything I need. Keep up the good work!

Excellent. Welcome aboard Terri. This is a very cool board and there's lots of respect here for users of all levels or experience.

Re: Male vs. Female DVX Users

thartley-
why did you leave your gender off? be proud, woman!

I had a bad dream about Fred's avatar, also.

What is a "disjecta?-hope you dont' mind the question.

Re: Male vs. Female DVX Users

"Disjecta" is a book of works by one of my favorite Irish authors, Samuel Beckett

Re: Male vs. Female DVX Users

i saw a NY1 VJ sporting a DVXA for a story. it was a she. and she was not using 24p. how sad...

Re: Male vs. Female DVX Users

I'm sure she was quite happy just to a decent picture and usable audio! News is not "film" and few people have the luxury to think beyond the basics--especially if you are out by yourself, on the streets of NYC, and under deadline.

Re: Male vs. Female DVX Users

LOL.. My  AVATAR

Thats the preperation H  guy from Conan O' brian. he effected me the same way...lol
Ya know he reminds me of the pinochio cartoon when i was a young lad. Remember on the island all the kids looked like donkeys?? With the ears and teeth etc... ??

Sorry it gave you bad dreams pooh... lol  ;D
