making sense of the clip names for sequence

Greetings,

I think I dumped my p2cards in a funky order and I wanted to make sense of the clip names as I need to assemble this choronolgically in my FCP timeline. Is there an order schem for the naming so that I could assemble the offloaded cards from their folders in the righ order. I have like 30 cards worth of data and it would be a nightmare to have to go through each... I'm hoping there's a logical explination to the naming madness...

Thanks all. I just have to put in chronolgoical order.. I shot it on 4 cards/hotswapping... and was uploading at different times... ahhh... next time I'd love to have the luxury of an assitant.

I've been struggling with this too. The clips are numbered in the order they appear in a volume, with random letters and numbers to separate them when they are imported, but numbering starts again with each card, it seems.

If you had set the time code to zero at the start of shooting, then for the code to run free, you can order them in the FCP browser by clicking at the top of the Media Start column.

If you didn't, it'll take better minds than ours to sort!

good luck
