Making room on my SSD Drive and MTS files

Hi all, I don't know if this is the appropriate place for this post so if not mods feel free to change it sorry.

Basically, I've been editing my af100 footage on a decent laptop with a few hardrives connected. One is a 100 gb ssd drive (which i have adobe cs5.5 etc saved on for quicker access and running). Everythings been going smoothly untill recently I notice i only have 9 gigs left! I dont save my raw files etc there, i do it on a hd drive. However, I ran windirstat (which tells you whats hogging what resources) and found a file on my ssd drive: appdata - Roaming - Adobe - common - Media cache files: and then a list of loads of cfa files of loads of stuff. A lot of it is named the same as my native MTS files, e.g. 00248.MTS 48000.cfa is an example there. I was wondering if i can delete all these and free up 20 gigs in the process, or would they effect my raw files?

When you copy and paste your MTS files from the af 100 to your harddrive, is it literally just the mts files themselve you have to watch, or do they create these duplicate cfa files that also cant be touched? I'm afraid if i delete these cfa files I'll effect my editing and lose my files, but at the same time my laptop needs freeing up! Any one got any idea, it would be much appreciated!

This belongs in the Premiere forum, but yeah, those are cached files. You can change the location of temp files in Premiere.

If you delete those files that are there, you SHOULD be ok as far as projects are concerned, but some footage that you pre-rendered will be missing/will need to be re-rendered. Personally, I'd close off the project first before deleting anything but you SHOULD be ok regardless.
