Make Space for Grace!

This is a series of short movies/commercials that I've been working on intermittantly for the past month or so. My church back home hired me to film these spots back in December, and as they need them I've been editing and shipping them over. The tagline for the intire series of five contracted movies was "Make Space for Grace" - an encouragement for some of the church regulars to begin attending the Friday night service, so as to make room on Sunday (which is generally overfull) for guests and newcomers, who would be more likely to come then.

Anyways, they gave a fair amount of freedom in writing and directing these- just basically let me go to town and have fun, so long as I stayed on point- so I'm really happy with what came out. They're fun little shorts, about two minutes each. :-)

1 - Make Space for Grace
This was the first one shown, and it's apparently ended up launching a spin-off series of skits involving this woman (now named "Grace", heh). My grandma played the role- I think she did fantastically. Amelie music rocks.

2- Dancing Queen
Same basic idea- trying to get people to come to the Friday night service. The couple I go to play these roles were so enthusiastic about it, half the time I just lef the camera rolling and let them improvise.

3- Unleash Your Inner Child
The only things you need to know for this one is that its goal is to recruit people to help in the childcare area during services, and also that that's our senior pastor, Dr. Getz, and his wife at the table there. And the little curly-haired kid is my brother Ethan. That's not really important though, he's just cool.

Anyways! I've two left to finish (one of which is done on the style of a 1950s educational film ala Duck and Cover or As Boys Grow), and I'll post those when they're finished. Hope y'all enjoy these- I had fun making them!

I really enjoyed those! I especially liked the dancing queen video. Your lighting was great in the opening shots. If you don't mind me asking what type of lights were you using to get such clarity and depth?

If I am not mistaken it looks like you used a mix of natural light and sum sort of tungsten. I could be wrong!
