Major Problem

So I have had my dvx100b for about 2 months now. I was just about to start editing some test footage i have since i just got vegas. When i turned on the camera i almost cried... The screen has gone completely berserk. All I see is a bunch of green snow and purple on the sides. WHAT THE HELL HAS HAPPENED. PLEASE HELP

oh and everything i do to settings and controls the screen stays the same

was it dropped at all?
does the viewfinder still work?

never been dropped and the only thing that works is the vcr function... that works perfectly fine

does this only happen when the camera is connected?

camera is disconnected and it now will sometimes make load clicking sounds to try to get the image back but nothing happens

Maybe it's time to send your camera for service.

I never saw this problem before with my DVX100 and it's over 520 hours.

Can you try to record some footage and capture it to see if it's still there in the captured footage?

did that and it captured the messed up screen

might be a problem with the ccd

YESSSSSSS THE CAMERA CAME ALIVE OUT OF NO WHERE!!!!!!.... Its fully functionally again and i think that i may have just creamed my pants....

how many hours are on the meter? and you should still bring it in for service anyway. It usually makes those green and purple colors when a CCD is messed up.

right around 310... I'm in Brasil now so once i get back in two weeks im going to have the heads changed or cleaned as well as the ccd checked out... Do you have any clue how much it cost to have the ccd fixed?
