Mains adapter message.

Before I charged up the batteries to my new HMC151 (did so without a hitch) I tried to run it off the mains adapter to explore. The cam powered up just long enough to display a message 'This battery cannot be used.' What?

I gently disconnected and reconnected the adapter a number of times (several minutes apart) but i still got the same warning.

I probably won't ever need the adapter (in order to try an avoid mains interference), but I do wonder why this happened. Anyone come across this before?

Sorry if this is an old topic - I did try to search threads like 'mains adapter' and 'display warning' etc., The message appears in the operating instructions warning section but no solution for this particular problem is offered or expanded upon.

You could have a bad power supply that is outputting too high or too low a voltage.

I think this is the sort of thing you should probably contact Panasonic about.

Yeah, if it is the power supply then it could also be frying you batteries. If it's the camera then you really wanna get that fixed. Hell, if it's under warranty then I'd get either fixed. No use having something that doesn't work right.
