hey everyone! like i said im getting a dvx soon. i was looking into cheap 35mm adapters and came across a 300 dollor one but i dont understand what it means by using the "magnet trick" becuase it films upside down. i guees if you put a magnet on your lcd it will film right side up? ive been trying to figure out and would like some help.it also says you can do the "mirror method" or "swap viewfinder locations." this is probably a really noob question but please let me know.

It will flip the image right side up for proper monitoring, however, it records the image upside down, and it will have to be flipped back in post. BTW, Welcome to the boards! Congrats on your soon to come DVX!

thanks. you will all be hearing alot from me . haha. im 16 years old and im really interested in video productions and stuff. so i will probably be lurking on this site on all my spare time.

As long as you're respectful and follow the rules you'll be just fine. My biggest advice is ALWAYS do a search before asking questions, as most of the questions that you'll have about the DVX and other things have already been gone over in depth on these boards. If you do a thorough search and don't find anything, you can be pretty sure that it's ok to ask. This just saves everyone time, and keeps the forum uncluttered. Other than that, be nice and everyone will get along just fine.

Welcome Chris! ..wait you are only 16.. well pretend it's coke or somthing :)

- Mikko ...Doesn't drink anyway

His smiley thing has a beer in it's hand. At 16 you're too young to legally drink beer, so we'll pretend it's a coke. We don't want to solicite underage drinking on these forums now do we!

Just wanted to clear it up if there was any confusion, i don't know what the magnet trick is, but don't do this.

If you have a portable monitor couldn't you just flip that upside down?

You just wouldn't be able to use the LCD. I don't think that thing is worth $600.

yea, that's another solution, probably a much better one at that, seeing as you *should* be using an external monitor with a 35mm adapter anyways. Something just doesn't seem right to me about sticking a magnet next to my LCD to have it flip the image.....magnets where they aren't supposed to be+electronics=bad news.
