Magnet (Even Johansen) in 24p

Magnet singer/wongwriter, Even Johansen, visitied Lampoon Studios, during CMJ's Music Marathon, to talk about his new single "Lay Lady Lay," as well as define "Electronicana."

The interview and host reads were filmed with a Panasonic DVX100 to 24p (F5) . The studio was lit with 4-ARRI 650s, 2-ARRI 300s, and 1-ARRI 150 using various difusion and flags. The audio was gathered with with a Sennheisser me66/k6 shotgun mic and an Azden WLX-Pro lav. The interview was then edited with FCP HD.

I've been watching your work since 2-pop days. You shoot with 24P, not 24PA, may I ask why?

AV Squad is aired on National Lampoon Networks which bicycles their entire block of programming to their affiliates at 29.97fps. I'm the only show using a DVX100, so there's really no point of shoot 24PA when the final product is delivered 60i.

I am working on a feature length doc where EVERYTHING we shoot is filmed 24PA as the doc will be eventually processed to film. There are a few clips of the documentary floating around this board.
