Hey,

Some friends are writing a short film for me to shoot called Clos Perdu so they took me to Napa, California and showed me around locations. I brought my handy DVX and captured as much as I could, we were wine tasting:). So I hope you enjoy, Magic Of Napa.

I appologize, through compression I lost a lot of my blacks.

some of that footage is really clean. Nice shot composition and colors. I thaught some of the camera movement was pretty shaky so it looked a little amatuer. I really liked the time lapse shot, it had really nice color.
Cheers.

that was awesome! i was raised & went to high school in napa, and I love Willow! Napa totally reminds me of Willow or Lord of the rings now that I think of it. I have shot a few shorts up there, one for my film school 2 years ago, great camera work man, work that DVX work it !!

what road were you driving up 2/3 through ? Looks very familiar. It wasn't Partrick road was it ?

this is the short I shot up there, http://www.richard-darge.com/sites/starwars.htm

Madmartigan! You really are great!

I really liked the time compressed shot at the end with the clouds (a polarizer would have been awesome on that shot) -- how long did you let the camera run and how much did you speed it up in Vegas?

Good stuff. It's tough to wow people with the pastoral/nature thing on dvxuser because of disjecta -- you got some great shots though.

wow thanks guys! Rgd, I'm not sure what road it was as I wasn't driving I'll ask foy you I think you might be right though, seems oddly familiar as the name! Also you still near Napa? We could use help on Clos Perdu! Urghl thanks much I agree that is my favorite shot too! Like I said though I lost a lot of my blacks even without that polorizer in my version I have a deep blue sky wish you coud see it!:( As for the time lapse, It was only about 8 minutes of footage which I sped up once in vegas my 300% and 4X playback speed then exported as a mpeg2 file and imported into my proj. which I then sped up another 300%. I don't know an easier way to get it faster. Hope this helps! Keep the comments rollin in guys. I need em!!!

Yeah, a tripod and some color correction would really help make that project look pro. Right now it looks like it's great amatuear project. Just go the extra yard.
