Magic lantern raw newbie help

I have just successfully installed MLRAW on Canon 5D mark 3 and are now ready to convert the files. I have read about cineform and it sounds the most interesting, but right now I just want to look at some files and see what I can do with them. The problem is that there are so many different converters and different and newer releases and I dont know where to start. Are there any helpful souls here that can give me some links and tips?

Just want to get started, but couldnt get raw2dng to work...

Are you using the MLV module? If so…. try youtubing "mlv_dump.osx". It's pretty simple and fast to convert the mlv files to DNGs which can be opened as a sequence in Resolve and After Effects.

If you aren't shooting mlv files, what happened when you tried to you raw2dng? What file types are you getting from teh camera? It really should be as simple as drag and drop… and wait ;)

Thanks guys, I have now successfully managed to make DNGs out of the RAW files with the RAWMAGIC app, but not had any luck with the MLVs dump in Terminal(newbie on mac to, unfortunately).

Is there a app or program thats takes the MLV files and makes it into a CDNG sequence(self contained file, not hundreds of singe DNGs)or maybe a more compressed format?

In regards to the mlv_dump, you have to have the dump file in the same folder as the mlv-file. Then you use terminal to navigate to that folder and write as he does in that youtube video. It's very manual work yes... :/ If you use Resolve or After Effects, both will open all the files up as a sequence by just selecting the first file. (in AE... click "sequence" as you import the files).

Otherwise that way JCS links to is also great. I can understand the need for single files, I just like to use ACR for my first light :)

Andy just added brightness and a 2D control to set WB to mlrawviewer. If he added basic RGB curves, contrast, saturation, and 3D LUT support that would provide basic first light support...

I'm also a noob when it comes to magic lantern.....had a look at the site last night and it just confused me.....i currently have firmware version 1.2.3 on my camera, it's brand new and as i understood it i would need to go backwards to version 1.1.3 and i would never be able to reverse this???? Is there a version of ML i can get for the 5d3 that doesn't involve raw?? i would like the functionality but i'm not that bothered about filming in raw..... any help appreciated....
