Hi, i would like to use magic lantern.
I install it on my Compact flash card for CANON 5d mark ii

since i will be on a trip and have no access to a computer, if i format the compact flash, i will lose magic lantern.
can i delete the files on my compact flash without using a computer ?

If i could, i would have the opportunity to use magic lantern without a computer.

Any thoughts??
Thank you,

You have option to format the CF card in-camera and retain magic lantern. You can also choose to remove magic lantern during format.

oh yeah? so when i format in-camera the magic lantern, i can click if i want to retain magic lantern or not?

I think the default when formatting cf is it retains ML. IIRC you have to press the pic style button if you want it removed.

And still my a7S loses the configuration files in the SD card when I format it in camera... :(

(almost-day-1 bug report, no answer yet)

Yup with ML, you can format the card either with leaving ML or with removing ML. It will tell you which button to press to toggle between the two options on the format menu (inside the Canon firmware menu)

and yup with ML, you can chose to save your configuration settings with every turn off, or just save it once permanently, and you chose to have it removed while formating, or leave it intact, and you can save more than one configuration files, and even transfer them to other cameras/Cards.

It's still beweldering me how a punch of software guys in front of computers could create a camera system so perfectly while multi-billipn dollar corporations with tens.of thousands of the world's most advanced engineers AND money, yet they can't even come close.

The degree of absurdness of the situation makes you almost believe it's on purpose for marketing reasons. But again, this is just throwing unfounded accusations, which is something I hate.
