Magic Lantern for DSLR, is it an audio fix?

I read that it can disable auto gain, give you stereo metering and other cool features. Will this help the issues going direct into camera? I am not a video guy but it is useful to know that I can have a separate source to record to and sync with.

So will this help drastically or is the line in just that terrible?

Which camera? There are different ML builds for different Canons.

As far as having the AGC turned off, and having manual audio level controls, it only goes so far. Honestly, it's 100x better than what the cameras start with... but these cameras still have very shoddy pre-amps and overall weak audio circuits. With a hot enough signal going in, you can minimize how much damage the pre-amps can do to the signal and end up with something that many folks now consider passable. I still go second-system with my T2i, even with ML installed.

With a T2i, its a world of difference, I can't even consider using audio without AGC off and manual controls. But Alex is right, they still arent the ideal way to record sound, I recommend an external audio recorder to monitor levels and you can then feed that into the line-in on camera with AGC off.

yeah I'm stricly sound and record my own setep. But I occasionally work on indies where dslr is used and wanby wondering how it sounded. Excuse my spelling I'm mobile. Thanks guys
