Magic Lantern for 5D mkIII with firmware 1.2.3 now online

Anyone having issues with 3rd party batteries after 1.2.3 update? I had Wasabi 7 batteries that were fine and none of them working now. I put a freshly charged battery in the cam, it comes on for a couple seconds, then the battery meter flashes and shows empty, then nothing.

Thanks for the warning photochris. Perhaps Canon effectively 'undecoded' the batteries (changed the way the camera talks to the battery firmware).

I had similar issues with my third party batteries, but the difference being that the camera now asks something along the lines of "are you sure you want to use this battery?" - upon selecting yes the battery will work just fine, with the battery metre working etc.

My issues with 1.2.3 extend further in that i can no longer record 1920x1080 25fps raw video on either of my komputerbay cards - ML comes up with a critical error every time i button off :/

Wondering if someone can help, I'm not exactly tech savvy and I have read the pinned "magic lantern guide", numerous videos, posts and tutorials and I still can't get ml to work. I have followed the steps to instal ml and I can get the camera to display it, but when I go to click on certain. Things it says "file can not be found". Also using the latest build I thought I nearly cooked my camera as it went all weird and the menu wouldn't stay open and kept flicking on and off. It seems more stable this morning, but something is going wrong. Currently I'm

1. Using canon firmware 1.2.3
2. Format sd card in camera
3. Download current build ml firmware
4. Copy contents in firmware file onto my sd card (I've read with these updates you don't need to use the eos card program? And if so, what do I select and how to use this program?"
5. Put sd card in camera and start
6. Initial firmware ( as I've already installed this way if I try a different firmware build will it just go over the top or do I need to delete it, as when I've tried it the cameras "bootflag already installed" once it installs)
7. Press trash icon to access magic lantern

if someone can let me know if this is correct, and
- how to install a different build, do I need to delete anything off camera, or is wiping and redoing the sd card enough?
- is there a preferred nightly build with my current cannon firmware?
- how do you access resolutions in magic lantern?

thanks for the help, total noob but spent hours on it last night with no luck......appreciate the help

I have been using the "bleeding edge" from March 17th. I don't know what you are experiencing but one thing to remember is to go into "Modules" and activate RAW recording in order to shoot RAW video. Are you tuning off the camera right after ML installs for the first time? If you wait 30 seconds it will uninstall itself and remove the bootflag.

Ive be noticed that you need to go into modules, but it also says "files not found" which is weird. Also I've definately turned it straight off. Thanks for the help

Thanks Ted. Do you know about card speeds needed? 1080p30 is tough for most. I can't imagine 1080p40 would be possible for many at all unless this new update lowers the speed required.

I am too busy now to test anything. Maybe in a few months. I am using the very first 1.2.3 release and still shooting RAW instead of MLV. Working great and I do not want to upset any apple carts!

Can someone point me to the best method for installing ML on an SD card? I have done it before but, it always feels like it's more trouble than it should be.
