Magic Bullet

Does anyone know if Magic Bullet affects your 24p footage? I guess what I mean is that if you shoot in 24p, does MB add an additional 24p effect that might distort the image or do you have enough control to turn the 24p in MB on or off? Any clarity on this subject would be great. Thanks!

Re: Magic Bullet

Magic Bullet consists of two plug ins: the "look suite" and the deinterlacer. Just use the look suite if you don't want to deinterlace.

Magic bullet for editors is cheaper, though, and doesn't include the deinterlacer. That's probably what you'd want.

You know, I am wholly unimpressed with MB For Editors. I definitely see the value for people who do not have the time or desire to learn color correction, but every effect in the looksuite presets are easily achieved through basic color correction - without getting that highly recognizeable "preset" look. I guess as a starting off point for getting the desired look it's ok, but I predict many, many indie projects will use the same 2 or 3 Magic Bullet presets over the next year!

Just my 2 cents...

..heh, i have to agree with that. i think that the tweaked looks were churning out now will look pretty old school come 2005. just like tha 70's and the 80's and the 90's they all have a look that was cool then and pretty blah now. but at the same time theres nothing wrong getting in when the ovens cooking and using the "in" tools of the day. even if they are commonplace.. as long as they arent worn out to general audiences you should be ok.
