Magic Bullet vs. ?...

Question for the MB/Vegas addicts...when you turn to MB for a certain look is it just for the sake of convenience? Would you be able to emulate the MB flavor with a good chunk of time tweaking FX in Vegas? I'm not dogging MB, just interested in hearing from some experienced folk on the topic. I downloaded a trial version and like what I see so far.

For some of the looks, it would take a LOT of tweaking and chaining effects together. I had MB on my old rig and really miss it now... Then, there's some that I haven't even come close to emulating.

Yes. Not only can you create these with native Vegas FX but David Jimerson has already done this for the five Celluloid ReelPaks that he created for us at VASST. I will admit that there is a lot of tweaking that David did but they do give you the same / similar film looks. I'm not dogging MB either by the way. I bought their Film Looks because the interface is so intuitive to use that it's easy to get exactly the look you are after. So sometime I just drop a look from the ReelPaks that David did and sometimes I use MB depending on what I'm after. (you can never have enough creative tools) ;-)
