Magic Bullet for HVX footage?

Just checked IMDB and it says both Spider-mans were shot on film. Wasn't at least one of them shot with the Sony F950 ?

EDIT- Anyway, here's the example I should've pointed out in the first place: 28 Days Later. This film was shot with a Canon XL1S !

Go to IMDB and look at the stills- That's what color correction, telecine, a good lens and excelent lighting do for you. WOuld you say that was not shot on film by looking at the stills?

28 DAYS LATER was shot in PAL with, I thought, the PD150 by Anthony Dod Mantle, who did THE CELEBRATION, which was a pretty important feature for digital cinematography. I don't think anything about the film looked like film, and it wasn't supposed to (except the very end, after the car crash, which was shot on 35mm).

Nothing about either Spiderman was shot on digital that I know of. You might be thinking of Superman Returns, which was shot with the Panavision Genesis.

I just picked up an excellent new book by Stu Maschwitz, creator of Magic Bullet.

It's called "The DV Rebel's Guide"

I read the last third of the book in one sitting. I've had beginning, intermediate and advance After Effects at Video Symphony as well as Compositing and Rotoscoping with After Effects.

The that third of the book focuses on color correction and getting the film look and using After Effects to finish your film. It told me a lot of things those classes didn't. Excellent, excellent!

if you want a film look work on Art direction. its not a "camera" thing. its what thespace youre shooting in looks like.

Pay attention to how cluttered most sets are, and how much attention to detial is paid in a film/music video/commerial.

I was thinking of purchasing magic bullet for use with Vegas 6 (Windows XP Laptop) and Final Cut (Pro Mac) and was wondering if I purchase the cross grade version 2.0 can I install it on both machines ?

What do you mean Timur? Do you mean not shooting in a white room with one couch a lamp and a T.V.? I just watched Last Days DP'd by Harris Savides and the house was indeed cluttered. But of greater interest was the colors on the walls, cabinets, paint peeling, old furniture etc. Looked like minimal lighting too as I thought I read he used a pretty small kit. But i'm sitting there thinking...damn i'm gonna have to start carrying paintings and sh*t in my kit as well as lights lol.

yea exactly. pay attention and look at how much crap is in an "average home" on a film or TV show. case in point the tv show "rosanne" that set had every square inch of it covered in some pattern or texture. whether it was grit or water stains.

Yeah, great book especially on rebel movie production and color correction in AE. Check it out.

The book and DVD come with scripts and presets for After Effects to automate your color correction. Worth ten times the price of the price of the book.

28 Days Later was shot with an XL1. Just look at the documentaries.

Yes, and looks fantastic. Not "dogma like", as you see in many mini-dv productions.

I just re-downloaded vegas 7.0d after a pc recovery but there's no magic bullet fx and spicemaster like before. Is it somewhere on the sony site? where can I find it? I mean the free one that comes with vegas.
Thanks.

Does anybody know about magic bullet and vegas not being bundled together anymore?
