Made this PL system for a friend- would there be any general interest?

Naturally most everyone will want to know if the mount is shimmable, but other than the gold color (anodized?), this looks good.

Great price, excellent design. What I like about this is the ability to purchase just the PL mount w/support. Hot Rod cameras-I do not know if you offer this, but you should(couldn't find it on the website).
Cannot wait.

What's needed in a PL adapter is a back-focus adjustment to eliminate the necessity of shims. If it's possible and can be produced at a competitive price, it will be the standard.

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo

What I also found when I was checking the BF is that for some reason the camera is very forgiving as far as BF is concerned. I would say that within 0.003" (0.075mm) there is no detectable variation. It could be me, but I'm usually pretty good at this after 25 years of practice...
My Optimator typically gives less than 0.001" (0.025mm) of leeway for adjustment. It will affect the back vs front DOF for sure...
Leo,
Are you having issues with BF? I Only checked two cameras and they were consistent... I can certainly design adjustable adapter but what would you consider reasonable?
Either the quantities will have to be tenfold or it would cost more.....

OT: Jacek, your name and your accent appear Eastern European. Where are you from?

Checked out your site, and would like to know if you can also convert lenses to cine (de-click, add standard ~80mm shade, add FF ring, add damping if needed, etc.).

If you need a "cheap" one try Hawk's Factory or Ciecio 7... same thing as this - just add a cheap baseplate adapter like this from Jag35:

...wait hey! His is Gold too... hmmmm...

I guess there is no room for innovation in the accessory market any more - just imitation.

So with the baseplate and the cheap adapter you don't need a shim? What is the shim for?

The only issue I'm having with my Polish adapter is that the focus marks on my Zeiss primes are off by about 6" at 6'. As for price, an adjustable mount would be more attractive than a mount which requires a trip to a camera department to be adjusted with shims.

Best regards,

Leo

Thanks Mitch,
Always nice to meet PROFESSIONALS here- much appreciated. Thanks for pointing out the link.

Jacek makes really nice gear. I own one of his lockable nikon mounts for the red and it is by far the best one out there.

Thank you Shane, I'm glad you like it. I think the ProLock may be overkill for this camera.
BTW I'm taking orders and getting parts made- shipping soon!!!
The PL has a very rigid Solid Support and can take any PL lens. Naturally lenses that have support feet(zooms) will need to use the lens support bridge as well.

Very nice looking piece. Will you be selling the Baseplate seperately for a hundred or so? I'd be interested in that and I think you'd sell a ton of them if they were competitively priced... cheers.
