The other night...i was kinda bored...so i took my crappy webcamera and made a music video to an acoustic song.

Gimme your opinions on the editing..and not so much on the song or performance, cuz i know i cant act for **** or anything.

Note: Theres only one of me...and i didnt use a greenscreen or any other type of backdrop to chroma key out.

That was pretty cool. I, at first, thought it was you and a roommate goofing around. Once I realized it was just you then I tried to figure out where the split screen was. You did a great job hiding the effect. Very cool.

It took me bout 2 hours to edit all together.

About 10 min to film..but there are some spots where u can notice there was a split screen if you look closely. This is prolly one of the best things ive edited (effects wise) since i started about a year and a half ago...i started at 13 now im 15.

That was good!

How id you do the split screen ? Did you record the thing twice and then lay the one on top of the other ? to create the overlap effect ?

Thanks,
Derrick

Yea. I recorded once with the acoustic, then another time with the Les Paul...then it took me about 3 layers to accomplish

Layer one in the beginning - Acoustic
Layer two in the beginning - Les Paul
Layer three for the whole video - used to switch between the two

then about after 4 seconds of into the video..i switched the layers and made the acoustic go on top and Les Paul at the bottom...and then towards the end where the Les Paul crosses my face, i switched the two layers back to the beginning again.

Its a simple concept. Just keep switching layers of which clip is laid on top of the other.
