Mac's Don't Like DVX??

I did a google search on problems with the DVX and Firewire and what I came up with were complaints in forums that Mac's are having a tendency to take out the 1394 chip on the DVX.

...When i plug my dvx in my mac it gives a real high beeptone like there is some current on it or something like that. It won't see the dvx either. Does this have anything to do with it.

Doesn't sound the same as my problem. The DVX is recognized just fine, it just has something to do with the firewire board not working correctly anymore so what I get if I try to capture through the DVX is what looks like tape shot on dirty heads...but in fact my heads are fine. I just gave up and I'm doing what I should have done all along and that's use another camcorder for the capture process. Many on this forum will tell you this "DO NOT USE THE DVX FOR PLAYBACK OR CAPTURE INTO YOUR COMPUTER....YOU ARE JUST WEARING OUT EXPENSIVE HEADS....USE ANOTHER CAMCORDER".

Actually i lost indeed a firewire board on the dvx last year, but I don't know if it's has anything to do with the mac. It could be because than I always used the dvx as deck.

BTW, Your last name sound dutch?????
