Macro focusing...

I am noticing when I pull out to a wide shot my Macro comes on in the VF. When I push in to a tight shot it goes off. Shouldn't it be the other way around? I have also noticed that if I push all the way into something I cannot get the focus no matter how much i spin the focus ring, it stays a blurred shot however if I pull back just a little bit I am able to get the shot in focused. With that said, I guess if I needed a really up close tight shot that I would have to put the camera darn near on the thing then adjust the focus. I have my focus in Manual as well. When I put it in automatic it, I can zoom all the way in on something into the Macro zone and it will still focus the shot.

Re: Macro focusing...

the further you are zoomed in the less marco you can focus. the dvx "macro" does not mean the ability to zoom in on somthing. the dvx macro means the ability to focus on somthing that is very close to the lense. and since the lense cant focus so close in tele, you have to go wider, the wider you are, the closer you can focus. if you are at 00 for focus which is right in front of the lense, and at a wide setting, when you try to zoom in, the focus wil automatically shift further out, if you zoom out again, the focus will shift back closer again...always staying  at the shortest focus distance it can for the zoom setting your at.- so basically macro deals with how close you are focusing, and has nothng to do with how much your zoomed in, except that how far your zoomed in can limit your ability to focus closely and use macro.
