Mack extended warranty experiences?

We are about to purchase a new camcorder and I'm wondering if the Mack extended warranty is a good purchase for unexpected failures.

Any experiences good or bad out there?

I am also thinking about purchasing this same warranty... and would love to know about anyone else's experiences as well...

EVS has a great deal on their mack warranty ~ $169 or so. I used to think warranties were bogus until I got a free new camcorder from Best Buy of the full value 5 years after purchase ::)
When the video heads were wearing down, BB tried to repair it multiple times (it took 3 Mo) - sony Digi 8 cam - and continued to have dropouts/playback errors until they finally gave up and I was able to get a sweet DV sony instead - with touch screen LCD, 1/2.7 CCD, etc which I then sold to pay for 1/3 of my DVX. So, If you are very nice to your investment, maybe a warranty may not be worth it. But, for $169, I think I win when my video heads eventually go out and I dont have to pay to repair them. ;)
