I need to buy a macbook pro to dump SXS media. I would like the cheapest possible one that I can find that will still ahve an express card slot.

I have one 17" that i have advertised here. It has PCI Express slot that I used a few times to transfer Sony EX3 files into the laptop. Search for my ad by keywords like 'Macbook Pro'.

Just so you guys know, I'm really looking for a cheap solution here, so if you are looking for $1000 dollars, i am going to have to pass, since i'm not an editor, this is strictly going to be used for dumping media.
 
What's cheap to you? $500? $600? $300?

I know of a few friends with older MBP, the years with ATI graphics, and can ask to see if they are looking to get rid of their machines.
 
yeah, under $600 for sure. as long as it has firewire 800 and expresscard...thats all i need. If i do use FCP on it, it will be just to transcode on the spot.
