Mac Pro Will Not Recognize P2 Card Footage

Hello all,

So I've been having a very difficult time trying to solve this problem and it doesn't seem like the web has any solutions so I come to you.

To be specific, currently trying to import footage via Panasonic AG-HPG10 onto my Mac Pro running Yosemite 10.10.5. I've downloaded the necessary drivers (or so I think) to have the computer recognize P2 cards (cannot import via camera as well as it freezes up the computer) as I've done in the past with older computers.

When I connect the device via "USB Device" it begins a high pitched tone with the error "System Error - Micon Error" and the card never shows up on my computer. When I turn the driver off it says I harmfully disconnected the device on my mac as it does while using a hard drive then pulling it out. Has anyone ever run into this problem?

My current work around is using other staffs' computers which are iMacs to import the footage. Thank you for your time and any help would be appreciated.

First thing to try is another card.
Format the new card in the camera before recording then try again.

The AG-HPG10 is a legacy device and to the best of my knowledge, drivers are no longer available. There were a slug of these in the used market when that happened a few years back. I do believe that the AG-HPG10 is also not compatible with all generations of P2 cards. Please verify my comments as this is recollected from a distant memory.

You also mentioned that you couldn't boot your cam. You didn't mention what cam you have, but any P2 cam should bootup as a hard drive if set up properly.

@ggrantly I know it's compatible as I can still import footage on older devices, just not my Mac Pro running Yosemite. I'm upgrading to El Capitan though I doubt it will fix the problem.
