Mac P2 glitch issue idea

Today my Mac got very confused because, while I had FCP open, I popped out my Lacie PCI card and popped in a P2 card. The card never mounted and I have to force quit FCP and restart computer. While steeping thru all of this I got two messages: One, asking if I wanted to sync my iDisk, and a another telling me my iDisk was full (which it is not.)

I have never gotten these messages before. Just today, provoked by use of P2 cards. So, I'm wondering if there is some kind of interaction on Macs between P2 cards and iDisk. And if so, could this have something to do with the glitch issue.

Do others who have had the glitch issue also have an iDisk account?

Since iDisk is a web-based, server storage application - which is not supported by the pro products from Apple - you can expect some strange behavior when using FCP to interface with your iDisk account. Keep in mind, all the "i" applications are general-consumer oriented and not part of the Pro Apps Support bundle package that installs with FCP.

I would not store your P2 clips - or any other media that you want to edit - on a web-based server, use local storage devices i.e., FireWire, USB or internal drives.

I've had the glitch, and I do not have an iDisk account.
